Eid Dessert : Sheer khurma

Ingredients:
- 1 liter whole milk
- 1/2 cup vermicelli (thin noodles)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped dates
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews)
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp ghee
Instructions:
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee over medium heat and add the vermicelli. Stir constantly until the vermicelli turns golden brown.
- Add the milk and sugar to the pan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the chopped dates, nuts, and cardamom powder to the pan and stir well.
- Let the mixture simmer for another 5-10 minutes until it thickens and the dates and nuts soften.
- Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, transfer the Sheer Khurma to a serving dish and garnish with chopped nuts (if desired).
