Prepare a temperature in your oven of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Mix the dates that have been chopped, the honey, the unsalted butter, the vanilla essence, and the salt in a medium saucepan. Warm the combination in a saucepan over medium heat, swirling it periodically, until the butter has dissolved and the dates have become pliable.

Take the combination away from the fire, and allow it to settle down some. Flour, baking powder, and baking soda should each be combined in their own dish before being added to the batter.
