Worlds Best Key Lime Pie
The best recipe ever for key lime pie! This Key Lime Pie is guaranteed to become a family favorite since it is tart, sweet, and so simple to make. An extremely creamy filling in a delectable graham cracker crust that comes together in a flash! One slice won’t be enough for you to eat!
The cracker crust is the foundation of the pie. I’m bad at making crusts, but a handmade graham cracker crust tastes WAY better than a store-bought one, plus it’s really easy to prepare. All you need are graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter.
I love cracker crusts because they are so simple to create and go so well with so many desserts.
Graham cracker crust ingredients
Cracker crumbs, 1 1/2 cups
1/3 cup sugar, granulated
6 tbsp. melted butter
Lime Key Filling
Sweetened condensed milk, 28 ounces
A half-cup of mild sour cream
zest from two ordinary limes or four key limes, or 3/4 cup key lime juice
Cream Whipping Topping
1 cup heavy cream for whipping
12 cup of sugar powder
Vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon
Instructions
Crunch of Graham Crackers
Set the oven to 375°F. In a small bowl, combine butter, sugar, and graham cracker crumbs. In an 8″ to 9.5″ pie pan, press the crumbs mixture firmly. For 7 minutes, bake. at least 30 minutes to cool.
Lime Key Filling
Set the oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, sweetened condensed milk, lime juice, and lime zest. Fill the graham cracker crust with the mixture, and bake for 10 minutes.
Before chilling, let pie to cool slightly. at least three hours to chill.
Topped with Whipping Cream
In a mixer, combine sugar and heavy cream and beat until firm peaks form. Vanilla is beaten in. The whipped cream should be dolloped or piped on top of the chilled pie. If desired, put more lime zest on top.
